Who we are

🇿🇦 Ralf’s Journey: From Germany to South Africa and Beyond

Every successful relocation requires the ability to adapt to a completely new culture and system. My own journey as an expat began long before I moved to Paraguay.

I grew up in the former East Germany (GDR), where I initially learned my trade working in a traditional paper factory. When the Berlin Wall fell, new horizons opened up. In 1991, I accepted an exciting career offer from a South African paper mill and relocated to Springs in the Gauteng Province.

In South Africa, I started working in a cardboard factory, the most advanced plant in the southern hemisphere at the time. After a short training period, I was promoted to shift supervisor and eventually climbed the ranks to become an area manager.

    • The Language Advantage: Managing a large industrial operation in Gauteng required clear, decisive communication. During my ten years in South Africa, I became completely fluent in English.
    • International Network: Although personal reasons brought me back to Germany in 2001, I have continuously maintained my English skills. To this day, I communicate regularly with many English speakers in the UK, South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya, keeping my vocabulary sharp and natural.

I arrived in Paraguay in September 2023 and lived in Ciudad del Este for two years. After successfully fulfilling the terms of my temporary residence permit, I received my permanent residence in October 2025. I managed the entire application process myself, without any outside help. Today, based in Encarnación, I use my background, my experience, and my personal contacts to ensure that our international clients feel fully understood and securely guided through the entire process—without any language barriers.

🇵🇾 Dirk’s Expertise: Deeply Rooted in Paraguay

A successful transition also requires extensive local knowledge. That is where my partner, Dirk Zacharias, comes in.

Based in the capital city of Asunción, Dirk is our primary expert for dealing with local authorities, paperwork, and on-the-ground logistics. He has years of experience as an entrepreneur.

While Dirk speaks and understands basic English, he is the driving force behind our local legal and bureaucratic execution. Together, we form the perfect team: I ensure that your needs and questions are perfectly understood in English, while Dirk and I make sure everything is executed seamlessly according to Paraguayan law.
